Vegan Dogs!

These days it is so easy to feed your dog a healthy vegan diet, I am surprised that this issue is still controversial. I love my dogs so much and want them to be the healthiest and happiest they can be that is way they are vegans.

This is an issue that I care about deeply, so I have put in the time and research so you don't have to! I am always adding new information to keep up to date on the latest new brands and recipes. Look at the resources page and the nutrition page as well.

Please go the the Discussion Page and leave me a comment, recipe or just say hello. I would love to hear what you have to say.

Why Do You Feed Your Dog Vegan Food?

Because they don't need to eat meat to be healthy and happy.

If we don’t NEED to eat animals to survive, is taste a good enough reason to murder them without pity?”
~Edward Sanchez

"But it's not natural?"

Well actually:

  • Dogs are not "natural", they are a product of artificial selection.
  • It's not natural for them to eat pre-cooked, baked, compressed, tortured GMO livestock in dryed chunks mixed with GMO grains and fats.
  • Dogs are omnivores, wild dogs can and do go long periods without eating flesh.

"But it's cruel to impose your morality on a dog?"

  • My "kids" are subject to my morality. I do not allow them to kill the neighbor's cats or children either, even if they want to.
  • Dogs have been on the receiving end of human morality since they were domesticated. They are subject to our rules and our culture and always have been.
  • Vegan dogs tend to be fully integragted into their families because we are as concerned with their rights as we are with the rights of other sentient animals.
  • It's strange to justify animal cruelty by using the rights of another animal, who is equally sentient.
  • So vegans should not adopt dogs and allow them to be euthanized; a morally preferable choice?
